Comprehensive Financial Planning in Alpharetta, GA
Whether you're planning for retirement, growing your investments, or protecting your family's future, we're here to help.
Many people who walk through our door have spent years earning well and wondering why their financial picture still feels uncertain. They have a 401(k), some equity comp, maybe a rental property, and a long list of questions no one has sat down to actually answer. That is exactly the kind of situation we exist for.
Daner Wealth Management is a fee-only, fiduciary financial planning firm serving clients in Alpharetta and across North Atlanta. Marc Daner has lived in Alpharetta since 1993 and has spent more than three decades helping families, executives, and business owners build plans that hold up through real market conditions and real life changes.
What Fee-Only and Fiduciary Actually Mean for You
These two words get used a lot in financial services. Daner Wealth Management is both fee-only and fiduciary. Here is what that means in practice:
Fee-Only
We are compensated entirely by client fees. No commissions, no product revenue-sharing, no incentive to recommend one investment over another.
You pay an all-inclusive annual fee of 0.75–1.25% of assets under management. That is the only way we earn money.
Fiduciary
Marc is legally and ethically required to act in your interest, not the firm’s. Many advisors operate under a “suitability” standard, which sets a lower bar.
A fiduciary standard is a meaningful difference. It changes the nature of every recommendation made.
If you have ever felt that advice was shaped by something other than your actual situation, this distinction matters. See our Investment Philosophy for more on how this guides our work.
Financial Planning Services for Alpharetta Families and Professionals
Financial planning is an ongoing process of connecting your money to the life you are actually trying to build. These services work together as a coordinated strategy.

How much is enough, when can we stop, and how do we make the money last? We work through Social Security timing, 401(k) distribution strategy, and RMDs, and stress-test the plan against inflation and healthcare costs.

We build diversified portfolios aligned with your risk tolerance, time horizon, and tax situation. For clients with concentrated RSU or company stock positions, we help manage that risk over time without triggering unnecessary tax events.

Tax efficiency is one of the few areas where strategy has a direct, measurable impact. We coordinate investment decisions with your broader tax picture: Roth conversions, capital gains harvesting, RSU vesting, and Georgia state tax implications.

We work alongside your estate attorney to make sure beneficiary designations, trust structures, and asset titling align with your intentions. We can also connect you with trusted local attorneys in the Alpharetta area.

Before you can invest well, you have to understand where the money is going. We build cash flow structures that fund your priorities without feeling like a straitjacket. Especially useful for clients with variable income or a recent liquidity event.

Disability, long-term care, and life insurance all factor into a complete plan. We review your existing coverage, identify gaps, and help you evaluate options without steering you toward any specific carrier or product.

Who We Work With
We work with high-income earners, executives, and business owners in Alpharetta, Roswell, Johns Creek, and Milton who want to be more intentional about what comes next. We also serve clients across Georgia and nationally.

Why Alpharetta Families Choose a Local Advisor
Alpharetta has changed dramatically since Marc Daner moved here in 1993. The city has grown from a quiet suburb into one of the Southeast’s most prominent business corridors, with a large concentration of technology companies, healthcare organizations, and financial services firms. With that growth has come a workforce of high earners, many of them navigating equity compensation, rapid wealth accumulation, and questions about protecting what they have built.
Working with an advisor who has lived here through that transformation matters in ways that are easy to undervalue. Marc understands the local business community, the area’s major employers, Georgia’s specific tax treatment of retirement income, and the practical concerns that come with raising a family and building a career in this market at the same time.
That local context shows up in the work: knowing the right estate attorneys and CPAs in the area to refer clients to, understanding how Georgia’s retirement income tax treatment affects distribution strategy, and recognizing the specific pressures that come with working in the tech corridor.
A 30-minute conversation to understand your situation and answer your questions about how we work. No commitment required.

Your plan is reviewed at least annually and updated whenever your life changes: a new job, a business sale, a marriage, a retirement date that shifts.

FAQs

We charge an all-inclusive annual fee based on assets under management, ranging from 0.75% to 1.25% per year. No separate planning fees. No commissions on any product we recommend. The fee covers financial planning, investment management, and ongoing advisory access.
We work with clients who are ready to take a serious, long-term approach to their finances. We ask clients to consolidate most or all of their investable assets with us so we can manage the overall risk picture effectively. If you are unsure whether we are the right fit at your stage, the intro call is the right place to have that conversation.
A broker is typically compensated by commissions on the products they sell. A fee-only registered investment advisor is compensated only by the fees clients pay directly. That structure removes the financial incentive to recommend products that pay more. Combined with a fiduciary obligation, every recommendation is required to be in your interest.
Yes. While most clients are in the Alpharetta, Roswell, Johns Creek, and Milton areas, we work with clients across Georgia and nationally. We meet in person at our office at 11475 Great Oaks Way, Suite 340, Alpharetta, GA 30022, or virtually, depending on client preference.
We manage taxable brokerage accounts, traditional and Roth IRAs, 401(k) rollovers, SEP IRAs, and SIMPLE IRAs. For clients with employer equity compensation, we coordinate RSU vesting, ESPP participation, and stock option exercise strategies with their broader portfolio plan.
Look for three things: whether the advisor is a fiduciary, whether they are fee-only, and whether their experience matches your situation. Our blog has additional resources on evaluating advisors if you want to go deeper on this.
